PORT OF KIEL expands its Executive Board

(Kiel, 30th June 2026) The PORT OF KIEL, respectively SEEHAFEN KIEL Verwaltungs-GmbH, is expanding its management team. With effect from 1st July 2026, Jörg Demuth will be appointed as the second managing director alongside Dr Dirk Claus. Both managing directors are authorised to represent the company individually. This appointment is the result of the PORT OF KIEL’s strong growth.  

Jörg Demuth has more than two decades’ experience in the port industry. He has been with PORT OF KIEL since 2006, has been Managing Director of SEEHAFEN KIEL Stevedoring GmbH since 2007, and has been an authorised signatory of SEEHAFEN KIEL GmbH & Co. KG since 2010. In future, he will be responsible, within the management team, in particular for the operational activities of the PORT OF KIEL. Dr Dirk Claus remains Chairman of the Management Board and is responsible for marketing, commercial administration, human resources, technology, legal affairs and IT, as well as the company’s strategic direction.  

“Jörg Demuth has played a key role in shaping the development of the PORT OF KIEL over recent years. We have been working closely together in a spirit of trust for around 20 years and share the same vision for the future of our port. I am very much looking forward to continuing this excellent collaboration within the management team in future,” says Dr Dirk Claus, Chairman of the PORT OF KIEL Management Board.  

Jörg Demuth adds: “I would like to thank the boards and shareholders for the trust they have placed in me. The PORT OF KIEL has developed very successfully in recent years. I am looking forward to this new role and to working alongside Dr Claus and our dedicated team to help shape the future of the port even more effectively.”

By expanding its management team, the PORT OF KIEL is strengthening its management structure and laying the foundations for further expanding its role as a high-performing port, logistics and infrastructure hub. ###
